The path to becoming qualified to use the MiniB system will depend upon your current status and whether you have any current 'Scuba Diving' qualifications. There will be a need to complete certain declarations and releases with regard to your health and the use of the equipment

The Costs of the MiniB/Microdiver Course

In qualifying to become a MiniB/Microdiver, your training will consist of two modules:-

  • On-line - firstly there is the On-line Course. It covers the main principals of shallow water diving to a maximum of 9 metres.  This part of your training alongside the final on-line examination must be completed before the practical application of your knowledge takes place.

  • In-Water - this consists of the pratical instruction of a range of skills which will enhance the pleasure of becoming of MiniB qualified.

The Online training is currently carried out by Scuba Training based in the USA under the guidance of the Professional Scuba Association Internation (PSAI) and. consists of both course reading and instruction with a subsequent exam leading to being academically qualified. This academic section must be completed prior to any practical involvment.

In-Water training which can be Pool based or Confined Open Water based, completes the experience by you demonstrating the basic skills required using the MiniB system . On successful completion of both modules you will then be qualified to dive to a depth of no more than 9 metres using the MiniB system.

The basic On-line Course has a cost of $49.95 (standard UK cost is £35.00) or its equivalent cost in €'s or any other currency.  In-water costs will vary wherever you complete this part of the course but in Gozo, where we are based, the cost is €225 per person or if a couple, the cost is €200 per person - addititonal reductions apply to family parties who will benefit from significant reductions in the basic charge.

MiniB System Costs

The cost of purchase of the equipment will depend upon which system you wish to purchase and the individual components chosen and will range from the basic MiniB Classic through to the Sport Mark 11 and the C-Pro Plus. If you wish to purchase your own system it can be delivered to your home or to the training centre of your choice.  If you are a suitably qualified diver from an alternative training agency and qualified to dive to a depth greater than 9 metres, both the Sport MK11 and the C-Pro Plus have the ability to be fitted with larger cylinders.  As with most equipment it can be rented for the duration of your stay, if previously qualified or, if completing a MiniB/Microdiver Course, the rental of the equipment is included in the cost of your course. If you wish to purchase a system please contact us with details of what you wish to purchase and delivery details as we can arrange for this to take place on your return home after completing your course.
